Sorry I haven't written and thanks to all of you who wondered where I was. For the last few days, I was working, so we didn't do much. One thing we did that I really enjoyed was we went to Rebecca's for dinner. Her duplex was lovely. She and I have similar decorating styles--well, at least the style I'm starting to move toward. Many of her showcase pieces of furniture are mid-century. She has original furniture (the real thing) and has decorated her two-bedroom duplex beautifully. She made grilled steaks, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, broccoli from her garden (which was quite impressive). Everything was delicious. We ate outside in her back yard and, though windy, the weather was nice and cool.
We did some shopping--bought Sean and grill and a few things for his lawn maintenance. Yesterday, Bob weeded his front lawn, put out solar lights, and I put silk flowers in his flowerpots (Sean can not be trusted to water live plants--we've tried that before).
We met with Sandra and Mike for our traditional liver and onion dinners at McCarthy's and will probably see them today. Mike helped us to pick up Sean's grill and used his truck to transport it to Sean's house. Thank you, Mike and Sandra.
Today, however, we are ready to do some laundry, reposition everything in the van, and pack up everything we have taken out of the minivan. I might vacuum a little here, as Takoma is shedding all over the place.
Today is our anniversary, but I don't think we'll have time to celebrate. Maybe tomorrow in Nebraska, or another day when we come across a special place.
Until then--au revoir!
